James Kagan: Control Freak

Mentalism, mirth, and other things that start with M.

This is not a magic show for your kids. Leave them home.

It's not raunchy, it's just not for kids.

ABOUT JAMES KAGAN

James draws on his eclectic childhood for inspiration. Growing up in Alaska as one of eight children, he experienced a unique upbringing filled with adventure and constant change, having moved over 20 times by the age of 18. This unconventional background taught him to read people and adapt quickly—skills he now uses to captivate audiences with his mind-reading and thought-influencing abilities. James’ performances are a blend of mental intrigue and personal storytelling, inviting audiences to explore the fascinating connections between human experiences and the power of the mind.

F A Q

What will we see?

James' eclectic life forms the basis for his feats of mentalism that will amaze, amuse, and astonish you. His act is part story-telling, part mind-reading, and 100% entertaining. He may read your mind, but he usually does that only with permission.

How long is the show?

The show runs about 45 minutes, and typically starts exactly on time, so it's recommended to plan on arriving at least 15 minutes before showtime.

If our plans change will you refund?

There are generally no refunds, but if you need to switch dates, contact us and we'll try to accommodate you. You may transfer your tickets to someone else, but they will need to check in under the original purchaser's name.

Secret location? What tf, James?!

James doesn't announce the location of the venue until the morning of the show, but he does tell you the general area. For example, the upcoming show will be within a 12-minute drive from Old Town, Scottsdale. You will be notified via email and text before noon the day of the show.

Is there a dress code?

There is not a specific dress code, but if you want to, dress up a little bit. James will welcome you no matter how you're dressed and he values comfort over tradition. Which means if you dress up and he walks in wearing sweat pants, don't be hatin'.

What are the ticket prices?

Ticket prices generally range from a low of $30 to a high of $60, but it depends partly on the venue. Front row VIP seats are priced higher than the others.

Really, no kids?

If you bring your kids James will give you a friendly smile and then roll his eyes after he turns away. There are no sponge balls in the show, no color-changing silk scarves, no appearing doves. Most children would be bored at a mind-reading show. James doesn't usually have a potty mouth, but he also doesn't censor himself during the show.
